Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the rollout of assistance for disabled persons living in Naxal‑affected areas of Chhattisgarh under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan.

New Delhi – Home Minister Amit Shah commended the government’s initiative to provide targeted support to disabled individuals residing in Naxal‑affected districts of Chhattisgarh. The assistance, delivered under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, aims to address health, livelihood and rehabilitation needs of the vulnerable population.

During a recent briefing, Shah highlighted that the scheme will channel funds for medical care, assistive devices and skill‑training programmes, seeking to improve the quality of life for those caught in the conflict zone. He stressed that inclusive development remains a priority for the central government.

State officials said the rollout will begin in the districts most impacted by insurgency, with coordination between the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Department of Social Justice and Empowerment and local NGOs. The first phase is expected to reach several hundred beneficiaries within weeks.

Shah’s remarks underscore the broader effort to integrate marginalized groups into mainstream development while addressing security‑related challenges in the region.
