The central government is expected to allocate about ₹3,000 crore to Himachal Pradesh for road construction, according to a statement by Vikramaditya.

New Delhi is likely to approve a central grant of roughly ₹3,000 crore for road‑building projects in Himachal Pradesh, a senior official named Vikramaditya told the Hindustan Times. The funding is earmarked for upgrading existing highways and constructing new links across the state's mountainous terrain.

State officials say the infusion of capital will improve year‑round connectivity, reduce travel times and bolster tourism, which is a key driver of the local economy. Better roads are also expected to facilitate the movement of agricultural produce and essential goods to remote villages.

The grant forms part of the central government's broader infrastructure push and will be released after the usual clearance procedures. Details on the exact allocation schedule and project timelines are expected to be finalised in the coming weeks.

If approved, the funding would mark one of the largest central allocations for Himachal's road network in recent years, underscoring the government's focus on improving transport infrastructure in the Himalayan region.
