The Himachal Pradesh police have launched a statewide initiative to bolster security measures at educational institutions following recent concerns.
Himachal Pradesh police announced a comprehensive plan to enhance security across all campuses in the state. The initiative includes increased patrols, installation of CCTV cameras, and coordination with college administrations to conduct regular safety drills. Officials said the move aims to deter potential threats and ensure a safe learning environment for students and staff.
The police department has deployed additional personnel to high‑risk institutions and is working with local authorities to assess vulnerabilities. Training sessions on emergency response and crowd management are being organized for campus security staff.
Authorities have urged students and faculty to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity promptly. The heightened security measures are expected to be fully operational within the next two weeks.
The decision follows a series of incidents nationwide that raised concerns about campus safety, prompting state officials to act preemptively.
