The Himachal Pradesh Horticulture College in Hamirpur will house a new training and placement centre aimed at enhancing skill development and job opportunities for horticulture students.
The Himachal Pradesh Horticulture College, located in Hamirpur, has announced the establishment of a dedicated training and placement centre. The facility is intended to provide practical skill‑building programs and connect graduates with employers in the horticulture sector.
College officials said the centre will offer industry‑aligned courses, workshops and on‑the‑job training modules designed to meet the growing demand for skilled horticulture professionals. Partnerships with local farms, nurseries and agri‑businesses are being formalised to ensure placement opportunities for students.
The initiative aligns with the state government's focus on agricultural diversification and youth employment. By integrating academic learning with real‑world experience, the college aims to improve job readiness and support the horticulture industry's expansion in Himachal Pradesh.
The centre is expected to become operational later this year, with an initial batch of trainees slated to commence programmes in the upcoming academic session.
