A civil engineer from Himachal Pradesh is reported missing after severe floods in Nepal, prompting officials in Una to alert the state disaster response centre.

Una district officials said a Himachal Pradesh-registered civil engineer was caught in the sudden flash floods that struck central Nepal earlier this week. The engineer, who was on a cross‑border project, failed to report back after the waters receded, prompting family members to file a missing‑person report.

The district administration immediately informed the Himachal State Disaster Management Centre, which has activated its standard protocol for missing nationals abroad. Coordination with Nepalese authorities is underway to locate the individual and ascertain his condition.

Local police in Una have also begun gathering information from colleagues and the engineer's employer to aid the search. The centre has urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with any investigative efforts, while the family awaits further updates from Nepalese rescue teams.

No official casualty figures have been released, and the engineer's status remains unconfirmed as both Indian and Nepalese agencies continue joint rescue operations.
