Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has formally requested Punjab's share in Chandigarh and the return of the Shahan power project.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has asserted the state's claim over a 7.19% share in Chandigarh. The Chief Minister has formally communicated this demand, seeking to secure the state's rightful portion in the Union Territory which serves as the joint capital of both Punjab and Haryana.
In addition to the Chandigarh claim, CM Sukhu has also pressed for the return of the Shahan power project. This hydroelectric project, located in Himachal Pradesh, was previously under Punjab's administration. The Chief Minister's move signals an effort to reclaim assets and assert territorial and resource rights concerning neighboring states.
