Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur announced that the old pension scheme will continue to apply to government employees in Himachal Pradesh. The decision was made during a press briefing on the state’s pension policy.
The CM also revealed that a new policy aimed at extending pension benefits to outsourced workers is in the final stages of implementation. Officials said the policy will be rolled out within the next few months.
The move is expected to address concerns of workers who have been employed through private contractors, ensuring they receive comparable retirement benefits.
State authorities will coordinate with the Department of Personnel to finalize the details and communicate the changes to all affected employees.
