In Chitrakoot, Madhya Pradesh, Raj family head Hemraj Singh Chaturvedi and former MLA Neelanshu Chaturvedi performed a riverbank puja and offered a chunri as the Mandakini’s water level, which had risen, began to fall, which devotees attribute to the deity’s blessing.
The Mandakini River in Chitrakoot saw its water level rise, prompting local residents and devotees to gather along its banks. The swelling flow was a focal point for the community, who closely monitored the river’s behavior.
Amid the heightened water, Hemraj Singh Chaturvedi, the head of the local Raj family, together with former legislator Neelanshu Chaturvedi, conducted a puja at the riverbank. The ceremony included traditional rites and the offering of a chunri, a ceremonial cloth, to honor Mother Mandakini.
Following the ritual, observers noted a gradual decline in the river’s water level. Devotees interpreted the receding flow as a sign of divine favor, crediting the goddess for responding to their prayers.
