A helicopter en route from Loisaba Conservancy to the Ewaso Nyiro region in Samburu County crashed at 9:13 a.m., killing all seven on board, among them five Americans.
A helicopter operating in northern Kenya went down at 9:13 a.m. while flying from the Loisaba Conservancy toward the Ewaso Nyiro area in Samburu County, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) said. The aircraft was on a routine flight when it crashed, and rescue teams were dispatched to the remote crash site.
All seven occupants of the aircraft were killed, the authority confirmed. Among the dead were five American nationals, while the remaining two were Kenyan citizens. No survivors were reported.
The KCAA has opened an investigation to determine the cause of the crash. Officials are coordinating with local emergency services and foreign embassies to identify the victims and notify their families.
