Heavy Showers Expected Across Hyderabad, Meteorologists Warn

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a city‑wide forecast of heavy showers for Hyderabad, citing an approaching low‑pressure system that will bring significant moisture to the region. The outlook, released early on Monday, indicates that the rain will likely begin later in the evening and persist through the night, covering most neighbourhoods.

Authorities warned that the intensity of the rain could lead to water‑logging on low‑lying roads and disrupt normal traffic flow. The municipal corporation has pre‑emptively deployed additional drainage pumps and advised commuters to consider alternate routes.

The IMD also recommended that residents secure loose items, avoid non‑essential travel, and stay updated with local alerts. Schools and businesses have been asked to monitor the situation but no closures have been announced at this stage.
