Intense monsoon rains have caused widespread flooding across Nepal, disrupting transport and leaving several Odia travelers stranded.

Heavy monsoon showers over the past days have swollen rivers and inundated low‑lying areas in Nepal, prompting authorities to issue flood warnings across multiple districts. The rising water has submerged roads, agricultural fields and homes, creating a humanitarian challenge for communities already vulnerable to seasonal rains.

Local rescue teams and the Nepalese army have been deployed to assist residents trapped by the deluge, using boats and temporary shelters to provide relief where possible. Damage assessments are ongoing as officials tally the impact on infrastructure and livelihoods.

Among those affected are a number of Indian nationals from Odisha who were traveling in the region when the floods struck. These travelers are currently stranded, awaiting assistance from Indian diplomatic channels and local authorities to facilitate their safe return.

The situation remains fluid, with floodwaters expected to recede gradually as the rain eases. Relief agencies have called for donations and coordination to support displaced families and restore essential services.
