A massive landslide on National Highway 10 in Sikkim has blocked the road, leaving several vehicles stranded after heavy rains.
A large landslide erupted on National Highway 10 near the Sikkim border after a week of heavy rainfall, causing the road to become impassable for both local commuters and transport trucks.
The debris, consisting of soil, rocks and vegetation, fell from the steep slopes that flank the highway, blocking the two-lane stretch and trapping several vehicles.
Local authorities reported that at least five cars and a truck were stranded, and emergency services were dispatched to clear the blockage and provide assistance to stranded motorists.
Road maintenance crews and the state police are working to remove the debris and restore traffic flow, while the Sikkim Transport Department has urged drivers to avoid the area until the road is declared safe.
