Heavy rains on Tuesday morning caused severe flooding in Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali, sweeping a person away in a drain.

Heavy rainfall on Tuesday morning triggered widespread flooding across the Chandigarh Tricity, affecting Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali. The deluge overwhelmed drainage systems, causing water to rise rapidly in streets and open drains. Authorities reported that a person was swept away in a drain in Mohali, though rescue teams are still searching for the individual. Local police and municipal bodies have deployed water pumps and road crews to clear debris and restore normal traffic flow. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid low-lying areas until the water recedes.
