Intense rainfall in Dindori district caused the Kharmar River to swell, flooding low‑lying bridges and disrupting travel.

Dindori district in Madhya Pradesh was hit by a spell of heavy rain that caused the Kharmar River to rise sharply.

The rising water breached the riverbanks and submerged several small bridges and culverts, cutting off local road connections.

District officials have dispatched rescue teams, issued travel advisories and are continuously monitoring river levels.

No casualties have been reported so far, but authorities warn that continued rainfall could worsen the situation.
