Heavy Rain Topples Giant Tree in Delhi's Patel Nagar, Damaging E‑Rickshaws

A towering tree fell in the Patel Nagar neighbourhood of Delhi on Monday evening as a bout of heavy rain battered the city. The downpour weakened the tree’s roots, causing it to snap and crash onto the street.
The fallen trunk struck a cluster of e‑rickshaws parked nearby, damaging the vehicles and blocking traffic on the busy lane. No injuries were reported, and the drivers were able to move away from the wreckage.
Delhi municipal officials arrived promptly, cordoned off the area, and began clearing the debris. Engineers are inspecting surrounding trees to prevent similar incidents, and the city has urged residents to report any unstable vegetation during the monsoon season.
