The Indian Meteorological Department has warned of heavy rain in Uttar Pradesh and the Northeast on Wednesday, with thunderstorms likely across several other states.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a weather advisory indicating that heavy rainfall is likely to affect Uttar Pradesh and the Northeastern region on Wednesday. The forecast is based on the latest satellite and radar observations that show a deep trough moving across the sub‑continent.
In addition to the rain, the IMD expects thunderstorms to develop in several other states, raising the risk of localized flooding, strong winds and occasional lightning strikes. Authorities in the affected areas have been alerted to the possibility of disruptions to transport and power services.
The department has urged residents to stay informed through official channels, avoid low‑lying areas, and secure loose objects that could be blown by gusty winds. Emergency services are on standby to respond to any incidents that may arise.
Meteorologists will continue to monitor the system throughout the day and provide updates as the situation evolves, ensuring that the public receives timely information about any changes in the weather outlook.
