Heavy rainfall during the night of 25 September 2024 caused flooding in the villages of Chikkarasannahalli, Obanahalli, Chikkannahalli, Ajjenahalli and Kabbi Gere, all of which fall under the jurisdiction of the Tovinnakere Panchayat in Koratagere taluk of Tumakuru district.
The downpour was intense and sustained, leading to water accumulation in low-lying areas and the overflow of local streams. Residents reported that water levels rose rapidly, inundating fields and household yards, and making it difficult for people to move around.
