A joint team of the Punjab health department and police conducted a raid on a salon in Khanna’s GTB Market, confiscating hair‑care product samples alleged to be marketed as a cure for baldness.

A coordinated operation by the Punjab health department and local police entered a salon located in the GTB Market of Khanna on Tuesday. Officials reported that the raid was prompted by complaints that the establishment was promoting unverified treatments for hair loss.

During the search, authorities seized multiple containers of hair packs, shampoos and oils that were being offered as remedies for baldness. The seized items were taken to the district health office for laboratory analysis.

The health department emphasized that any product claiming to cure hair loss must be approved by the drug regulator and backed by scientific evidence. Unlicensed claims can mislead consumers and potentially cause health risks.

Police officials said the raid was part of a broader effort to curb the sale of spurious medical products in the state. The salon owners have been asked to provide documentation for the products and may face further action if violations are confirmed.
