The Haryana government has inaugurated a trade bridge with the United Kingdom to help local exporters leverage opportunities under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA).

The Haryana government officially launched a new trade bridge with the United Kingdom on Thursday, marking a strategic step to connect local exporters with the UK market under the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA). The event was held at the state’s trade and commerce headquarters and was attended by officials from Haryana’s Department of Industries and Commerce as well as representatives from the UK Department for International Trade.

The trade bridge aims to streamline market access for Haryana’s diverse export sectors, including agriculture, textiles, and machinery. By aligning with CETA’s provisions, exporters can benefit from reduced tariffs, duty‑free entry for certain goods, and simplified customs procedures, thereby enhancing competitiveness in the UK market.

State officials highlighted that the initiative will provide a structured platform for trade missions, business matchmaking, and capacity‑building workshops. Support services such as export financing, market intelligence, and regulatory guidance are expected to be rolled out in the coming months.

The UK delegation underscored its commitment to fostering bilateral trade and expressed optimism that the collaboration will open new avenues for both Indian and British businesses. The launch is seen as a catalyst for increased investment flows and deeper economic ties between Haryana and the United Kingdom.
