Haryana to rebuild 150 schools with ₹400 crore, says CM Saini

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Saini announced a ₹400 crore plan to reconstruct 150 schools across Haryana.
The Haryana government has approved a massive infrastructure drive to rebuild 150 government schools across the state. The project, unveiled by Chief Minister Manohar Lal Saini, is slated to cost around ₹400 crore and will focus on modernising classrooms, improving sanitation and upgrading safety standards.
Funding will be sourced from the state’s education budget, with implementation to be overseen by the Department of School Education. Contractors will be invited to submit bids, and the work is expected to begin in the upcoming financial year.
The initiative aims to address the deteriorating condition of many rural and semi‑urban schools, enhancing learning environments for thousands of students. Officials said the upgraded facilities will include better ventilation, digital classrooms and accessible amenities.
Stakeholders, including teachers’ unions and parent‑teacher associations, have welcomed the move, calling it a long‑awaited step toward improving educational outcomes in Haryana.
The reconstruction schedule will be monitored by a dedicated task force, with periodic reviews to ensure timely completion and quality compliance.
