Haryana authorities have issued a yellow alert as heavy rain is expected in the state on Tuesday.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the entire state of Haryana, signalling a moderate risk of heavy rainfall on Tuesday. The alert covers all districts, with the northern and western parts expected to receive the highest precipitation. Residents are advised to stay indoors and avoid unnecessary travel.
The yellow alert indicates that rainfall could be intense enough to cause localized flooding and waterlogging in low-lying areas. Local authorities have urged people to keep emergency kits ready and to monitor updates from the state weather bureau.
Meteorologists predict that the rain will begin in the late afternoon, peaking around 6 p.m. and tapering off by midnight. The state government has already activated its disaster management plan and has requested the police and fire services to be on standby.
This is the second consecutive day of a yellow alert for Haryana, following a red alert issued last week for the neighboring state of Punjab.
