The Haryana Pollution Control Board ordered the closure of ten construction sites in Gurugram after finding multiple environmental violations.
The Haryana Pollution Control Board (HPCB) has ordered the immediate shutdown of ten active construction sites in Gurugram, citing repeated breaches of environmental norms. Inspectors found that the sites were not adhering to prescribed dust‑control measures, noise limits and waste‑management protocols, prompting the board to intervene.
According to the board’s statement, the violations included unfiltered emissions, improper disposal of construction debris and failure to install mandatory dust suppression equipment. Such lapses not only breach state regulations but also pose health risks to nearby residents.
The closure halts all ongoing work at the affected sites until the contractors obtain clearance after rectifying the cited issues. HPCB has warned that non‑compliance may attract further penalties, including fines or revocation of permits.
Authorities said they will conduct follow‑up inspections to ensure that corrective actions are implemented and to prevent similar violations in other ongoing projects across the city.
