Ahead of Diwali, Haryana Police intensified security measures across the state to curb rising theft and snatching incidents as crowds gather for Dhanteras purchases.

The state police announced a comprehensive security drive in anticipation of the Diwali celebrations, focusing on the popular Dhanteras day when people flock to buy jewellery, utensils and other goods.
Police deployed additional officers to key markets and shopping areas, set up checkpoints, and increased patrols in high‑traffic zones.
The primary objective is to deter thefts and snatching incidents that have been on the rise during the festive season.
Officials said the heightened vigilance aims to ensure a safe shopping experience for residents and visitors alike.
