The Haryana administration has once again granted a 21‑day furlough to convicted sect leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, allowing his temporary release from custody.

The Haryana government announced that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, the head of the Dera Sacha Sauda sect, will be released on a 21‑day furlough. The decision, issued by the state authorities, permits the sect leader to leave prison for a limited period.

This is not the first time the convicted leader has been granted such leave; earlier furloughs have been provided under similar circumstances. Officials said the move follows the state's standard procedure for temporary releases.

Under Haryana’s prison furlough policy, the 21‑day period is intended to address specific humanitarian or health considerations, after which the individual must return to custody to complete the remaining sentence.
