The Haryana cabinet has cleared the IFFCO‑SPR corridor and the road linking sectors 68 and 69, a move aimed at easing traffic in Gurugram.

The state government of Haryana has formally approved the construction of the IFFCO‑SPR corridor, a major arterial road intended to connect the industrial hub of IFFCO with the SPR zone. In addition, the plan includes a link road between sectors 68 and 69, which will provide a direct route for commuters in the rapidly expanding Gurugram region.

Officials said the approval clears the way for detailed project reports and tendering, with the expectation that the new infrastructure will reduce travel time and de‑congest existing highways. The corridors are expected to support both commercial traffic and residential commuters, enhancing connectivity across the city’s western belt.

The decision was taken after consultations with urban planners and local authorities, who highlighted the need for better road networks to accommodate Gurugram’s growth. While the exact timeline for construction has not been disclosed, the government has indicated that work will commence once the necessary clearances are obtained.

Stakeholders, including business groups and residents, have welcomed the move, citing potential economic benefits and improved quality of life. The project aligns with Haryana’s broader agenda of upgrading infrastructure to sustain the region’s development momentum.
