Farmers in Haryana are rejoicing after premium basmati rice fetched over ₹5,000 per quintal at local mandis, marking a significant rise in market rates.
Premium basmati rice sold in Haryana mandis has crossed the ₹5,000 per quintal mark, a milestone that has sparked enthusiasm among local farmers.
The surge was reported across several mandis in the state, with traders noting a steady climb in prices over the past weeks.
Farmers say the higher rates will improve their earnings and could encourage more cultivation of premium varieties.
Market analysts attribute the rise to increased demand from domestic exporters and a tightening supply chain.
The development is seen as a positive sign for the state's agricultural economy, potentially boosting rural incomes.
