The Haryana government has sanctioned a total of ₹2,534 crore for new drinking water and sewerage schemes across the state, aiming to improve water supply and sanitation infrastructure.

The Haryana government today approved a cumulative investment of ₹2,534 crore for a series of drinking water and sewerage projects across the state. The funding, announced by the state’s Chief Minister, will be allocated to upgrade existing water supply networks and construct new sewerage systems in both rural and urban areas.

The projects target key districts such as Gurugram, Faridabad, and Panipat, where water scarcity and inadequate sanitation have been persistent challenges. The plan includes the installation of new pipelines, water treatment plants, and sewage treatment facilities to meet the growing demand of the state’s expanding population.

Officials say the investment is expected to provide reliable drinking water to millions of residents and reduce waterborne diseases by improving waste disposal. The projects are scheduled to be completed over the next five years, with phased implementation to ensure minimal disruption to daily life.

In a statement, the state’s Minister for Water Resources highlighted the commitment to sustainable development and urged local bodies to cooperate for timely execution of the schemes.
