The Haryana government announced plans to develop the state as a drone manufacturing hub and to expand its industrial townships to support the sector.
New Delhi, Sep 28 (TOI) – The Haryana administration has unveiled a roadmap to position the state as India's premier drone manufacturing hub. The plan calls for the creation of dedicated drone zones within existing industrial townships and the launch of new township projects to accommodate ancillary units.
State officials said the initiative will be backed by fiscal incentives, streamlined clearances and infrastructure upgrades, aiming to attract both domestic and foreign investors. The move aligns with the central government's "Make in India" drive and the growing demand for unmanned aerial systems in sectors such as agriculture, logistics and defence.
The proposed expansion includes widening land parcels, improving road and power networks, and setting up testing facilities. If implemented, Haryana could see a surge in high‑tech jobs and export potential, reinforcing its reputation as a fast‑growing industrial corridor.
