On Karva Chauth in Gwalior, husband Anand allegedly struck his wife Madhuri Srivastava on the head with a musli, causing her death, and later reported the incident to police.

Gwalior police received a call on Karva Chauth from a man identifying himself as Anand, who admitted to killing his wife, Madhuri Srivastava, by striking her head with a musli. The incident is reported to have occurred at the couple's residence in the city.

According to the police statement, the fatal assault followed a domestic dispute between the spouses. The musli, a wooden implement commonly used for cleaning, was used as a weapon, delivering a blow that resulted in fatal head injuries.

Law enforcement officials arrived at the scene shortly after the call, placed Anand under arrest, and began a formal investigation into the homicide. The case is being treated as a murder under the Indian Penal Code, and the accused is being held in custody pending further inquiry.

Investigators are collecting forensic evidence and interviewing neighbors to establish the sequence of events leading up to the killing. No additional suspects have been identified, and the motive appears to be rooted in the reported domestic altercation.
