A shooting inside a Ludhiana gurdwara has been linked by investigators to a personal grudge and a wider security conspiracy, officials said.
Police in Punjab reported that armed assailants opened fire inside a gurdwara in Ludhiana. Preliminary investigations suggest the attack was driven by two overlapping motives: a personal vendetta against individuals associated with the temple and a broader security conspiracy aimed at creating unrest.
Law enforcement agencies have launched a joint probe, involving local police and intelligence units, to trace the perpetrators and uncover the alleged conspiratorial network. Officials emphasized that the motive assessment is based on early evidence and witness statements collected at the scene.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of places of worship and prompted calls for heightened security measures across religious sites in the state. Authorities have urged the public to remain calm while the investigation continues.
