Gujarat's transport and police departments have jointly approved the acquisition of 500 new vehicles for the Jan Rakshak programme, a volunteer‑driven road‑safety initiative. The additional fleet will bring the total number of Jan Rakshak vehicles to roughly double the current strength, enabling more frequent patrols on highways and urban roads.
