Following an eight‑day parole granted to Mohammad Shafiq, the accused in the Ahmedabad blast, Gujarat police have dispatched a sizable force to Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, to maintain round‑the‑clock surveillance.

Gujarat police have sent a reinforced contingent to Ujjain after an eight‑day parole was granted to Mohammad Shafiq, the individual charged in the Ahmedabad blast case. The move aims to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incidents while the accused is out on temporary release.
The deployment includes Gujarat police guards, officers from the local Ujjain police station and personnel from the police line, forming a substantial security presence around the city. Authorities have placed Shafiq’s residence under continuous 24‑hour monitoring, extending surveillance to the surrounding neighbourhood.
Police officials emphasized that the heightened vigilance will remain in effect for the entire parole period, with teams ready to respond swiftly to any threat. The coordinated effort reflects cooperation between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh law‑enforcement agencies to manage the situation responsibly.
