Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi inaugurated a fleet of 101 new Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation buses, aiming to boost public transport capacity across the state.
Gujarat's Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi officially opened 101 newly procured buses of the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC). The launch took place in a ceremony attended by senior transport officials and local dignitaries.
The addition of the buses is part of the state government's effort to modernise the public transport fleet and improve connectivity in both urban and rural corridors. Officials said the new vehicles feature upgraded seating, air‑conditioning and safety features, aligning with recent initiatives to raise service standards.
GSRTC officials expect the expanded fleet to increase daily passenger capacity by several thousand seats, easing crowding on popular routes. The government has earmarked further investments to replace older buses and expand network coverage in the coming years.
