The Gujarat government announced the completion of 497 projects under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme, extending water supply and sewerage networks across the state.
Gujarat has reported the successful completion of 497 initiatives under the second phase of the Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT 2.0). The projects, spread across urban and semi‑urban areas, focus on augmenting drinking‑water supply, improving sewerage infrastructure and enhancing overall civic amenities.
State officials said the new works have increased the number of households with piped water and connected a larger share of the population to modern sewer systems. The expansion is expected to reduce water loss, improve public health and support sustainable urban growth.
