A man in Gujarat was detained after posing as a Central Industrial Security Force officer and offering fake airport job placements and discounted iPhones.
The Gujarat Police arrested a man on Thursday after he was found impersonating a Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) officer.
According to officials, the suspect approached job seekers claiming to have connections with airport authorities and promised them employment in exchange for a fee.
He also offered cheap iPhones, allegedly at a discount, as an incentive for the same. The police say the scheme was a scam aimed at exploiting job hopefuls.
Investigators are probing whether the man had any links to the CISF or if he acted entirely independently.
The arrest underscores the authorities’ vigilance against impersonation and fraud in the state.
