On 5 October, the day of Teachers' Day, a group of guest teachers assembled in Shahjahan Park in Bhopal despite heavy rain. They held signs demanding that the state government issue permanent job orders for all temporary teachers. The organizers gave the government a one‑month deadline to fulfil the demands. They announced that if the deadline lapses without a response, they will launch an indefinite strike starting 2 October. No official statement from the education department has been released yet.
