GTB Hospital in Delhi has introduced dedicated wards and diagnostic services to manage the rising cases of dengue and chikungunya, aiming to improve patient care and containment.

GTB Hospital, one of Delhi's premier public medical institutions, announced the activation of separate wards exclusively for dengue and chikungunya patients. The move follows a noticeable uptick in reported cases across the capital during the monsoon season.
The hospital has bolstered its laboratory capacity with rapid diagnostic kits, enabling quicker confirmation of both viral infections and reducing turnaround time for test results.
Additional medical staff, including infectious disease specialists and nurses trained in vector‑borne disease management, have been deployed to the new units.
Coordination with the Delhi Health Department ensures that vector‑control measures, such as fogging and community awareness drives, are synchronized with patient care efforts at the hospital.
Officials emphasized that the dedicated facilities are intended to isolate cases, prevent cross‑infection, and provide focused treatment, thereby easing the burden on general wards and improving overall outcomes.
