A tragic incident unfolded in Sikravad, a village in Shivpuri district of Madhya Pradesh, when the body of 21‑year‑old Chotu Rawat was recovered on Sunday after he went missing during heavy rain. Local authorities confirmed that the young man’s remains were found in a water‑logged area and were handed over to his family for final rites.
While family members were transporting the body for the funeral, 65‑year‑old Chappanlal, the deceased’s grandfather, suddenly felt dizzy, collapsed and could not be revived. He was taken to a nearby health centre, but he succumbed to the attack before reaching the facility.
The double loss has plunged the small community into deep mourning. Villagers gathered at the site to perform the last rites together, and local officials expressed condolences, noting the incident underscores the hardships faced by rural families during emergencies.
