Police say a granddaughter attacked her sleeping grandfather with a cricket bat in Sangam Nagar, Indore, citing a decade‑old dispute.
Indore police detained a young woman after she allegedly struck her elderly grandfather with a cricket bat while he was asleep in a room at their Sangam Nagar home.
Investigators indicated that the assault stemmed from a family quarrel that began ten years ago, during which the granddaughter had previously accused the senior relative of inappropriate conduct.
The victim later died from his injuries at a local hospital, and the incident has been recorded as a murder case, with authorities probing the long‑standing grievance to establish motive.
