Devadurga, November 1: The 71st Kannada Rajyotsava was celebrated with great enthusiasm and joy at the Devadurga Municipal Council office premises, highlighting the pride and glory of Karnataka's language, literature, culture, traditions and heritage.
On this occasion, Municipal Council Chief Officer Hampayya was present and spoke about the significance of Kannada Rajyotsava and the rich historical background of the Kannada language. He emphasized that Kannada is not merely a medium of communication but also a symbol of Karnataka's identity, culture and self-respect. He stated that every Kannadiga should take pride in their mother tongue and actively contribute towards its preservation, development and promotion.
The Kannada language has a rich history spanning thousands of years. With the valuable contributions of numerous poets, writers, artists and language activists, Karnataka has established a remarkable literary and cultural heritage. Preserving this legacy and introducing Kannada language, literature and traditions to future generations is the responsibility of every citizen.
It was also emphasized that greater importance should be given to the use of Kannada in government offices and public administration to strengthen the language's position and promote its everyday use.
The Municipal Council office plays an important role in providing public services and maintaining direct contact with citizens. Therefore, providing information and services to the public in Kannada is essential. Such initiatives further strengthen the objectives and spirit of Kannada Rajyotsava.
The celebration also conveyed a strong message of unity, linguistic pride and respect for Karnataka's cultural heritage. The love and respect for Kannada should not be limited to Rajyotsava celebrations alone; instead, everyone should make Kannada a part of their daily lives and contribute to its growth and development.
Chief Officer Hampayya, Isaq, Mallinga Raya, Tamanna Gouda, Malan Bee, Gangadhar, along with municipal council employees, women staff members and others, participated in the celebration.
