The government and the action committee have settled their demands in the Parvinder Singh Jhota murder case, clearing the way for the victim’s funeral, post‑mortem and a two‑crore compensation for his family.
The Punjab government and the action committee formed to represent the relatives of Parvinder Singh Jhota have reached a consensus on the pending demands related to the murder case. After 23 days of stalemate, the agreement paves the way for the completion of the victim’s post‑mortem and his final rites.
Under the settlement, the family will receive a compensation package of two crore rupees, a sum intended to address both immediate financial distress and longer‑term support. The authorities have also cleared procedural hurdles, allowing the funeral arrangements to proceed without further legal impediments.
Officials indicated that the accord will be formalised in the coming days, after which the compensation will be disbursed and the post‑mortem report released. The resolution is seen as a step toward closure for the grieving relatives while the investigation into the homicide continues.
