Karnataka Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot assured farmers that the state will take steps to resolve the land dispute surrounding the Bidadi township project.
In a statement released earlier today, Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot addressed concerns raised by farmers in the Bidadi township area of Bangalore Rural district. The governor said that the state government is actively reviewing the land acquisition process and will take corrective measures to protect farmers’ interests.
The Bidadi township, a planned residential development, has been at the center of a dispute over land rights and compensation. Farmers who have been displaced or affected by the project have demanded fair compensation and a transparent resolution.
Gehlot added that the government will engage with local authorities and stakeholders to ensure that all affected parties receive due compensation and that the project complies with legal norms. He also urged the community to cooperate with the authorities during the investigation.
The governor’s statement comes as the state government faces mounting pressure from farmer groups and civil society organisations to address the land‑dispute crisis in the region.
