The Ministry of Home Affairs has officially denied the circulating social media posts alleging misconduct by Assam Rifles personnel in Manipur, stating the claims are baseless.

The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a statement on Tuesday, dismissing a series of social media posts that alleged misconduct by Assam Rifles troops in Manipur. The posts, which circulated widely on platforms such as Facebook and WhatsApp, claimed that the paramilitary unit had engaged in unlawful activities in the state.

In its response, the ministry clarified that no credible evidence supports these allegations and that the Assam Rifles have not been involved in any wrongdoing in Manipur. Officials also warned that spreading unverified information could undermine security operations in the region.

The government’s clarification comes amid heightened security concerns in the northeastern states, where the Assam Rifles play a key role in maintaining law and order. By debunking the false claims, authorities aim to prevent misinformation from affecting public perception and operational effectiveness.
