The state governments of Assam and Meghalaya have affirmed that no road or transport blockades are in place, according to an official statement.
New Delhi – Officials from the Assam and Meghalaya administrations issued a joint statement on Thursday confirming that there are no blockades affecting roads, railways or other transport routes in either state. The declaration comes after circulating rumors of possible disruptions that had raised concerns among commuters and traders.
The governments said that law‑enforcement agencies are monitoring the situation closely and have not received any reports of obstruction or protest actions that could impede movement. They urged the public to rely on official updates rather than unverified social‑media posts.
By ruling out a blockade, the authorities aim to reassure businesses and travelers that normal economic activity can continue without interruption. The statement also highlighted that any future disruptions would be addressed promptly through coordinated action between state police and local administrations.
