Gorghi Dam Breach in Chitrakoot Triggers 30‑Foot Rise in Mandakini, Washes Away 300‑Metre Ramghat Bridge; Satna Railway Tracks Submerged

A sudden breach in the Gorghi dam in Chitrakoot has led to a rapid rise in the water level of the Mandakini river, estimated at around 30 feet. The surge forced the 300‑metre long bridge at Ramghat to be swept away by the torrent. In the nearby district of Satna, the floodwaters also inundated railway tracks, halting train movements in the area. Local authorities have been alerted to the emergency and are reportedly assessing the extent of damage to infrastructure. The incident was reported by Amar Ujala from Satna.
