The majority of these were domestic tourists, numbering 44.4 lakh, while 2 lakh foreign nationals also visited the coastal state during this period.
The month of May alone witnessed a positive growth trend, with tourist arrivals increasing by 4.53% compared to previous periods. This surge in arrivals indicates a strong interest in Goa as a travel destination.
Looking ahead, the tourism department has announced plans to introduce special monsoon packages. These initiatives are aimed at attracting more visitors during the off-peak season and capitalizing on the unique appeal of Goa during the rainy months.
