Goa University launches AI elective for all postgraduate courses

Goa University announced that an artificial intelligence (AI) elective will be offered across all its postgraduate programmes starting the next academic session. The move, approved by the university's academic council, seeks to integrate AI fundamentals and applications into the curriculum of diverse disciplines, from engineering to humanities. The elective will be optional, with a credit structure aligned to existing PG requirements, and will be taught by faculty trained in AI and data science. University officials said the addition responds to growing industry demand for AI‑savvy graduates and aims to enhance employability. The university plans to review the course's impact after the first intake and may expand it based on student feedback and technological developments.
