The state-owned shipbuilder Goa Shipyard reported a record turnover of Rs 4,004 crore for the financial year 2025‑26, the highest in its history.
Goa Shipyard Ltd, the public sector shipbuilding unit under the Ministry of Defence, announced a record revenue of Rs 4,004 crore for the financial year 2025‑26. The figure represents the highest turnover the company has recorded since its inception, reflecting robust demand for its naval and auxiliary vessels.
The earnings surge follows a series of contracts awarded to the shipyard for building and refitting warships for the Indian Navy and Coast Guard. Industry analysts attribute the growth to the government's emphasis on indigenisation of defence assets and the shipyard's expanding production capacity.
Company officials said the strong financial performance will enable further investment in modernisation, technology upgrades and skill development, positioning Goa Shipyard to meet future defence procurement targets.
The results were disclosed in the firm’s annual report filed with the Ministry of Corporate Affairs and covered by major business news outlets across the country.
