The Chief Minister of Goa announced that an overbridge will be built to connect the GMC Super Speciality Block in Panaji. The new structure is intended to streamline traffic between the hospital complex and surrounding roads, reducing congestion during peak hours.
Construction is expected to begin later this year, with the project overseen by the Goa Public Works Department. Officials say the bridge will feature pedestrian walkways and safety barriers to accommodate both vehicles and foot traffic.
The initiative is part of the state’s broader infrastructure upgrade plan, which includes road widening and public transport improvements across Panaji. The overbridge is projected to enhance emergency response times for the medical facility.
No official cost estimate has been released yet, but the project is slated for completion within 18 months, according to the CM’s office.
