Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said the town of Bicholim will receive a detailed master plan to guide its rapid growth.
Bicholim, a fast‑growing town in North Goa, is set to receive a formal development blueprint as its population and commercial activity surge. The local administration has highlighted the need for structured land‑use zoning, infrastructure upgrades, and environmental safeguards.
In a statement, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that a comprehensive master plan will be prepared to steer Bicholim's expansion. The plan will map residential, industrial, and recreational zones, and outline provisions for roads, water supply, waste management and public amenities.
The state urban planning department will coordinate the exercise, with inputs from municipal officials and urban experts. Authorities aim to complete the draft within the next twelve months, after which it will be presented for public consultation before final approval.
Officials expect the master plan to attract investment, improve civic services and ensure sustainable growth, positioning Bicholim as a model town in Goa's development agenda.
